Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBA regular welterweight title against Adrien Broner in Las Vegas on January 19.

Pacquiao, 39, last fought in July when he stopped Lucas Matthysse in the seventh round to record his 60th professional victory – his first fight in almost a year following a hugely controversial defeat to Australian Jeff Horn.

Broner meanwhile is hoping to thrust himself back into the world title picture.

The Ohio-native was at one point viewed as a possible successor to Floyd Mayweather’s throne having amassed a professional record of 27-0 before he was stopped by Marcos Maidana in December 2013.

The 29-year-old has since won just six of his last nine fights, battling out a draw with Jessie Vargas in April.

Pacquiao has long been linked with fighting former stable mate Amir Khan while talk of a rematch with Mayweather has also resurfaced in recent months.

His focus now however shifts to Broner, who he will meet at the MGM Arena in the New Year.
