Bowler Freddie scares Arthur

Fired up: Flintoff's pace is seen as a threat

England are yet to decide where Andrew Flintoff will bat on his Test comeback at Headingley tomorrow but it is 'Freddie' the fiery fast bowler who most bothers South Africa.

Flintoff will replace either fellow all-rounder Paul Collingwood or one of Michael Vaughan's front-line pacemen for the second match of the npower series

"It's Flintoff the bowler who worries us a bit more," said South Africa coach Mickey Arthur. "He bowls particularly well when coming around the wicket, especially at left-handers, and we've done a bit of work in the nets on that with our two, Graeme Smith and Ashwell Prince."

But as a batsman, the visitors clearly feel Flintoff could be vulnerable.

"I'm not sure who is going to be the unlucky person to lose out for England but, if it is Collingwood, then Flintoff at No6 is going to put a lot of pressure on their top order," said Arthur.

"But Flintoff is a quality player and if we are going to conquer England we want to do it against their best side and that clearly includes Flintoff. We are looking forward to playing against him, it just heightens the challenge for us."
