Bonus for Blues' Dalla Bona

Man-of-the-match Sam Dalla Bona grabbed a stunning solo goal to seal Chelsea's 3-0 win over Bradford at Stamford Bridge.  

The 19-year-old Italian danced through the visitors' back-line to slot in the Blues' second goal midway through the second half and provide the Chelsea fans with an early Christmas cracker.

Gus Poyet had opened the scoring in the first half and Eidur Gudjohnsen finished the visitors off on the stroke of full time to erase the memories of last week's embarrassing defeat at Middlesbrough and reignite Chelsea's quest for European qualification.

Dalla Bona said: "I was very pleased with the goal and it's nice to score. It's my first Christmas away from home, although I won't really think about that because there are so many games."

Dalla Bona, signed by former Bridge boss Gianluca Vialli two seasons ago, excelled in midfield for the new-look Blues despite the hustling qualities of the visitors.

"I think I played very hard," said the former Italy youth captain. "It wasn't easy, we could have played a little bit better but they were very physical and I enjoy that, even though it's different to football in Italy.

"I feel okay in the team at the moment but I don't feel that I can rest because there are a lot of good midfielders not in the side like Slavisa Jokanovic and Jody Morris."
