Blow for Harrison as BBC pulls the plug on TV deal

Audley Harrison was today facing a crucial decision about his future as a potential world championship contender after the BBC pulled out of backing the Olympic gold medallist.

This Saturday's clash against unbeaten Pole Tomasz Bonin at Alexandra Palace will be the last Harrison fight to be televised, after Mike Lewis, the BBC's head of boxing, said they could no longer afford to support the controversial heavyweight.

The 32-year-old Londoner, unbeaten in 16 professional bouts, is now threatening to fight on in exile either in Germany or the United States.
