Besiktas slam 'unfair' move

Besiktas today accused Chelsea of flouting the spirit of fair play and giving into terrorism by demanding that their Champions League clash be moved from Istanbul.

Tomorrow's Group G game will take place in Gelsenkirchen at Chelsea's request following last month's bombings in the Turkish capital.

But Besiktas coach Mircea Lucescu insisted that his team would have come to London in similar circumstances and said Chelsea were not being fair.

He said: "If the same thing had happened in England then I am sure that my team would still have played. England is supposed to be the country of fair play, but this is not fair. London is like Istanbul and this could have happened in any country in the world."
