Ardley's delight at wise buys

13 April 2012

Wimbledon skipper Neal Ardley believes new signings Kevin Cooper and David Neilsen could inspire the club's late push for the play-offs.

Former Stockport midfielder Cooper and striker Neilsen, who joined from FC Copenhagen, both played important roles as the Dons extended their unbeaten run to 13 games with a 1-0 win at Wolves on Wednesday night.

Ardley said: "They have both settled in really well. Kevin reminds me very much of Michael Hughes, he's got two good feet, great skill and is a good signing.

"David played his first game in three months on Wednesday and did very well, though he tired a bit towards the end. Like Kevin, he looks like he will be a great acquisition."

Wimbledon entertain Birmingham tomorrow in the first of a run of three home games.
