Andersson in bullish mood

Matt Hughes13 April 2012

Sweden captain Patrik Andersson is confident his side can get off to a World Cup flyer against England on Sunday.

With 94 caps to his name the Barcelona defender has more international experience than any of Sven-Goran Eriksson's men, and insists there is not one England player he fears.

Andersson said: "England have some very good players as they always do, but none that particularly worry us. They have a good team and obviously a very good coach, but then again so do we.

"We will not be particularly concerned about any of their side."

England have not beaten Sweden since 1968, and Andersson believes that record will stand them in good stead.

"We have a very good record against them, so England-will worry about us more than we worry about them," he said. "Sweden are very hard to beat. We have a good defence, now we're working on the offence. It suits us to play as the underdogs. All of the pressure is on England, not us, so we will be a lot calmer."

Andersson expects Freddie Ljungberg to star in the World Cup, along with Ajax youngster Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
