Alex Bogdanovic at fault again as he crashes Queen's

End of the road: Britain’s Alex Bogdanovic on his way to a first-round defeat at Queen’s Club today

Alex Bogdanovic completed a miserable 24 hours today by crashing out of the Aegon Championships 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to Bulgarian wild-card Grigor Dimitrov.

Last night the British No2 missed out on a wild-card for Wimbledon after failing to get past the first round at SW19 for eight years in a row.

Today, he resumed his rain-affected match at Queen's leading the third set 2-1. And, although he is almost 200 places above Dimitrov, Bogdanovic wasted the opportunity to reach the second round.

The crunch moment came when Bogdanovic, having saved two break points, double faulted to hand his 19-year-old opponent the fifth game.

Trailing 5-3, Bogdanovic saved two break points again but he could not stop Dimitrov sealing victory and a second-round meeting with eighth seed Feliciano Lopez.
