Candidates should have previously worked for either a newspaper, magazine, website, or a showbiz news agency, be NCTJ qualified (or the equivalent) and be confident working with web production.
They should know their showbiz and film stars inside out, work well under pressure, to deadline and be accurate with an excellent writing style.
The job involves extracting stories from our newspapers to publish on the web,
writing snappy headlines, previews and picture captions, generating ideas, organising live celebrity webchats, managing the showbiz and film sections (and one-off specials such as Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity) plus spotting and rewriting stories from the wires.
