Historic comments by Travis Kelce about having children have resurfaced amid his ongoing romance with Taylor Swift.

In a podcast episode with his brother, Jason, and his mother, Donna, the star, 34, who has been dating Swift for the past few months, talks about finding a “breeder” to have children with.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made the remarks about starting a family during a February 2023 episode of his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother - who is also a NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The brothers ask their mother Donna who she is rooting for in an upcoming game where the Chiefs will take on the Eagles. Travis jokes that she loves his brother more as he has given her grandchildren.

Jason shares three children – Wyatt, four, Elliotte, two, and Bennett, seven months – with wife Kylie Kelce. Their youngest wasn’t born at the time of recording.

Donna says the question is like asking who her sons would save - her or her husband, Ed Kelce, if they were stranded in the sea. Jason then quips that, if that question was reversed and she had to pick between him and Travis, his children would be fatherless.

“Remember if you choose me, Wyatt and Elliotte grow up without a father,” he said.

Travis then jokes: “I gotta start breeding,” in relation to starting his own family. “I’ve gotta start breeding, to all the breeders out there.”

To which his mother replied: “Wait until you find the right person. Find the right person.”

But the star added: “I’m gonna find a breeder, and I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again.”

One fan reacted to the comments by suggesting they were sexist.

On X, they wrote: “Forever grateful that Joe Alwyn kept to himself and is private.

"It's what makes Travis Kelce's statements from earlier this year about "finding a breeder" cringe. You are free to say what you want but are not free from the consequences of doing so. Women are not objects.”

Another, called Josie, added: “I ain’t a swiftie but don’t have to be one to be weirded out about travis kelce calling women “breeders”  that ain’t it dude.”

Kelce and Swift have been linked for the past few months,  with the singer recently planting a kiss on the cheek of her new boyfriend marking the couple’s first major PDA.

She has attended almost all of the star's games since they have been linked - and was back in the crowd at the Arrowhead Stadium a few weeks ago to watch the Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-17.

Chariah Gordon, girlfriend of Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman Jr, gave fans a sneak peak behind the scenes of the team's celebration on her Instagram.

In her pictures, Grammy-winner Swift can be seen kissing her boyfriend while decked out in the team’s kit colours.
