Top five dance music mags

We give you our top five music mags to grab from the newsagents stand if you really want to know what's going on in clubland

1. Jockey Slut

Hailing from Manchester and now based in London, Jockey Slut is opinionated, on the ball - this year cover stars included Trevor Jackson, Neptunes, Basement Jaxx - and not afraid to break the mould. Previous cover artists have included Badly Drawn Boy.

2. DJ

Twelve-year-old DJ is the original DJ-centric magazine and understandably on top of both new technology and tunes. Its Top 100 DJs poll is the only award list to cover the entire dance music spectrum and is a barometer of what's popular with the public.

3. IDJ

The current issue features Japan's DJ Kentaro, Kiwi Freq Nasty and Birmingham's Steve Lawler, reflecting the magazine's global perspective. Also big on the latest kit and comprehensive reviews.

4. Knowledge
