Mike Skinner's back, and revelling in his new role as the friendly-faced ambassador of the post-garage/Brit-hop/grime/whatever-you-wanna-call-it scene that he did so much to popularise. With two massively successful albums and a number one single in the bag, he's now playing impresario, promoting the new artists on his fledgling label The Beats.

Tonight, he presents The Mitchell Brothers, two soulful London MCs named in honour of Albert Square's finest, whose new single, Routine Check, has a lot in common with Skinner's own vernacular fables. Also on the bill is Kano, a fast-flowing grime MC, who looks set to follow Dizzee Rascal to mainstream success with his harsh tales of East London life ("We're so hungry, we'll t'ief your food").

Skinner's set, of course, is the main draw, and is sure to be as rowdy as ever. British music suddenly seems rather exciting.
