Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has revealed that’s she’s landed a presenting role on ITV's Lorraine.

The pro dancer shared her “delight” to star on the morning show following “a tough year” after undergoing breast cancer treatment.

The 33-year-old, who already presents BBC's Dare To Dance, is said be fronting the show’s celebrity interviews and behind-the-scenes content.

She told the Mirror: “I'm delighted to join the Lorraine family and can't wait to be part of the brilliant team of presenters on the show.

“It's been a tough year but this is something I'm so excited about and can't wait to get started”.

Show host Lorraine Kelly shared her excitement over Dowden joining the team and praised how Welsh star showed “such grace” throughout her cancer battle.

The Scottish presenter shared: “We're thrilled to have Amy join the Lorraine family.

“We always love it when Amy is on the show, and know our viewers do too, so we can't wait to see more of her.

“She's had an incredibly tough year and overcome it with such grace, I'm so excited to welcome her to the show.”

Last Friday, Dowden revealed that “no evidence of disease” was found during her latest health check.

The Caerphilly-born dancer was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer last May and underwent a mastectomy.

Dowden took to Instagram to explain that she will not receive the “all clear” for five years due to her type of cancer, and that during that time she will continue to receive monthly injections and regular check-ups.

The TV star was diagnosed after finding a lump in her breast in April 2023, the day before going to the Maldives on honeymoon with fellow professional dancer Ben Jones.

Despite being too ill to compete in the most recent Strictly series, she performed in the opening professionals’ dance number during the final in December, and had made a surprise appearance in an earlier episode to read out the voting terms and conditions and give an update on her treatment.

Dowden has been open about her experience with cancer on social media in a bid to raise awareness of the disease.

She said she was planning to continue this work to encourage as many people as possible to check their bodies for signs of cancer.
