Luke Skywalker’s opening dialogue in the forthcoming Star Wars Episode 8 has reportedly been leaked.

Despite the fact that scripts have been on lockdown and the film is still a year away from release, a line spoken by Mark Hamill’s Skywalker to Daisy Ridley’s Rey has appeared online.

YouTuber Mike Zeroh revealed the tantalising snippet of dialogue on a video this week, claiming that the information came from various sources.

According to Zeroh, the first words that Skywalker says are: “You contain the spark that will rekindle the fire.”

The YouTuber claims that the line of dialogue will feature in the first trailer for Episode 8, which is not expected to be released until next year.

While nothing has been confirmed, many Star Wars fans believe that Rey is actually Skywalker’s daughter.

Speaking to MTV earlier this year, Ridley said: “‘I don’t know if I am a Jedi… I don’t think I am. We’ve had this debate as to whether Leia is because she uses her Force powers.

“Just because she’s not like, “Oh I’m going on an adventure” like Luke doesn’t make her any less Forceful.”

Secrecy on the Star Wars 8 set has reportedly been high, with cast members referred to by numbers and scripts shredded after use.

Hamill recently said: “I understand why they’re doing it but it can get really out of control with the pages that get shredded every day.

“I’m in the elderly recluse phase of my career – I need old school, I need a script that you can write on, that you can take home and read.”
