Snoop Dogg collared

Hip Hop star Snoop Dogg has made a great success of breaking into Hollywood but this must be his most embarrassing scene yet.

The 35-year-old rapper was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana after police stopped his vehicle outside Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California.

As he was led to the police station, officers were seen carrying away bags and jars full of the drug.

The arrest comes weeks after the rapper's guest appearance in the TV show Weeds.

The plot involved Snoop Dogg, playing himself, buying dope from the main character, played by Mary-Louise Parker, a suburban mother who sells the drug from her house.

During the real-life drug drama Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was stopped for a vehicle code violation.

When officers questioned him, the California born rapper acknowledged he had a firearm in the car and was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

It is not the first time that the Signs hitmaker has been caught attempting to carry a weapon in his luggage.

Last month, he narrowly avoided arrest at John Wayne airport in his native Orange County when police confiscated a collapsible baton from his hand luggage.

It was reported that Snoop Dogg had attempted to carry the weapon through an airport security checkpoint.

Snoop Dogg was banned from entering Britain in April after being arrested and cautioned for affray and violent disorder at Heathrow.

He and five of his entourage caused a brawl after being refused entry to the British Airways first-class lounge.
