Paris Hilton woke to find a knife-wielding intruder trying to break into her home.

The hotel heiress called police after making the terrifying discovery in the early hours of this morning (24.08.10).

She tweeted: "So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him. (sic)"

The 29-year-old star then posted a picture of police outside her house in Los Angeles, California.

This is not the first time an intruder has tried to get into Paris' home.

In December 2008, burglars stole an estimated $2 million worth of jewellery and other belongings from her property, though she wasn't home at the time.

Last year, Paris took to twitter to reveal someone had tried to break into her sister Nicky's house in Beverly Hills.

She seethed at the time: "It's unbelievable how my sister called the cops over an hour ago and they still haven't shown up. Her house just got robbed, so messed up.

"I HATE people who steal! It's so wrong! I hope they catch whoever did this! There has been so many robberies lately. So scary! (sic)"
