Orlando Bloom could enjoy a bargain wedding in his fiancee's hometown.

The town of Gunnedah in New South Wales, Australia - where the Pirates of the Caribbean star's wife-to-be Miranda Kerr is originally from - has offered the couple a street parade in their honour, complete with brass band.

Tying the knot: Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

Adam Marshall, mayor of the town, said: "We'd love to host a good old country wedding to celebrate a local girl made good."

The couple - whose engagement was revealed on Monday - have also received the blessing of Miranda's grandmother, Ann Kerr, who praised her granddaughter's choice of future husband.

She explained: "We are so happy for her. They are well-suited and the family is delighted for them. They are good together. They laugh and giggle. When we are all together, I watch them and see that he's very attentive to Miranda. He must be a nice boy otherwise Miranda wouldn't be with him.

"All I want is the best for her. She is just lovely, from the top of her head to the bottom of her toes."

While the pair earn millions from Orlando's blockbuster roles and Miranda's modelling contracts, the discount wedding could cost them just £1,750.
