The Taxis family moved to Tuscany last year and bought a tumbledown mansion house that must have had many viewers shaking their heads in disbelief. Yes, it's only £270,000 - but it's falling down, for heaven's sake.

Viewers who saw that original programme (and may, thus, find this update annoyingly repetitive) will recall that builder William and wife Miranda planned to create high-class holiday accommodation in an area where, according to the commentary, rental property is "a licence to print euros".

However, the dream is a nightmare. The building turns out to be the Italian equivalent of "listed" and needs complicated planning permission; William has an almost-fatal accident; and Tuscany experiences the worst storms in decades. The final straw is a proposed airport 200 metres from the front door.

Can the Taxises ever make their dream come true? Or will they pack up and come home?
