Katie Price is to quit ITV after signing a new exclusive deal with the Living TV channels, it was announced today.

Her hit fly-on-the-wall shows have been a mainstay of ITV2 for several years.

But her firm, Pricey Media, has now struck a deal with Virgin Media Television, making it the broadcaster's biggest independent supplier, when her ITV contract runs out in November.

Switching sides: Katie Price with Alex Reid

Centrepiece of her programmes will be an observational series for Living which will pick up from ITV2's What Katie Did Next, due to air next year.

And there will be a new six-part "factual entertainment" series fronted by Price, as well as pilot shows for Living and Bravo to be created by the production company.

The move will be a blow to ITV2, which pulled in up to 1.8 million viewers with her shows.

Her former husband, Peter Andre, still has a deal with the broadcaster and his latest series, The Next Chapter, is currently being screened.

Pricey Media was set up by Price with former ITV Studios executive Mark Wagman. And Virgin Media's director of television Claudia Rosencrantz is a former entertainment boss at ITV.

Pricey Media's joint managing directors, Wagman and Jane Robinson, said today: "Viewers continue to be fascinated by Katie Price, and we are delighted that this new deal offers the perfect springboard to evolve her television career as well as grow and develop our media business in partnership with VMtv who have given Pricey Media the creative freedom and scope to develop some really exciting new projects for their channels."

Rosencrantz said: "I've always loved and admired Katie as she has always combined her beauty with her very good brain, and I'm thrilled to be working with her again.

"I am delighted to be reunited with Mark, Jane and the rest of the Pricey Media team. I know we're going to come up with some amazing, must-see TV together."

The new two-year deal is thought to be worth in the region of £10 million, including production costs.

ITV announced last week that it was to broadcast a three-part special featuring Price and husband Alex Reid's wedding blessing.

Katie & Alex: For Better For Worse, will be shown during the summer by ITV2.
