Kate Winslet has been lauded with praise by fans after a clip of her reassuring a young interviewer during her Avatar: The Way Of Water film junket has gone viral.

In the clip, a young journalist from German public service broadcaster ZDF revealed that the British star, 47, was her first ever interview.

Upon hearing the teen’s admission, the Oscar-winning actress immediately shared some heartfelt words of encouragement to make the very daunting moment a much more relaxed one and reached out her hand.

The young journalist, named Martha, says in the video: “This is my first time [interviewing]”.

To which the star replies: “It’s your first time doing it? So we’ve decided right now, me and you, that this is going to be a fantastic interview.

“And you can ask me anything that you want, and you don’t have to be scared, everything is going to be amazing.

“Okay? You’ve got this! Okay, let’s do it!”

And it appeared as though Winslet’s motivational words put the young reporter straight at ease as she spent a few minutes speaking to her about her career and her work on the James Cameron movie.

The reassuring moment was initially shared on Instagram and has since gone viral on Twitter, where users praised Winslet’s kind reaction.

A fan commented said: “Genuinely what a lovely thing for her to say, she didn’t have to, i bet that makes a lifelong difference” (sic).

“This is how to celebrity,” another viewer penned.

A third added: “I adore Kate Winslet on every level” while another echoed many social users sentiments, remarking: “She’s such a good person. I love Kate!”

German broadcaster ZDF encourages young people to get into journalism with their pool of “child reporters” who get to interview big names such as Winslet.
