Justin Timberlake has delighted fans by uploading the first picture of his newborn son Silas.

Timberlake, 34, posted a picture to his Instagram account showing the newborn wearing a Memphis Grizzlies basketball jersey while cradled in the arms of his wife Jessica Biel.

He captioned the picture: "The Timberlakes are ready!!! GO GRIZZ! #GritNGrind #Playoffs #BabyGrizzROAR."

Silas was the middle name of the Suit & Tie singer's grandfather Bill Bomar, while Randall is the name of his father, as well his own middle name.

News of the arrival of the couple's first child together was confirmed by a rep on April 11, just two months after Timberlake confirmed the pregnancy by uploading a picture of himself kissing Biel's baby bump.

The father-of-one spoke of his family at the iHeart Radio Awards earlier this year where he referred to Silas as his "greatest creation".

"I want to thank my best friend, my favorite collaborator, my wife Jessica at home," he said. "Honey I can't wait to see our greatest creation yet. Don't worry, daddy's heading home right now to innovate by learning how to change a poopy diaper and get my swaddle on."
