Jonnie Irwin has hailed his wife Jessica Holmes as an “angel” as they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary together.

The former A Place In The Sun presenter, 49, took to his Instagram on Sunday to share a picture of him and and his 40-year-old partner enjoying a creme brûlée during a romantic meal at Mediterranean restaurant Lovage Jesmond in Newcastle.

The couple have been married since October 2016 and share three sons together, Rex, four, and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

The TV star, who is battling terminal lung cancer which has since spread to his brain, captioned the image: “Celebrated 7 years married to this angel. I use this term because the love she shows to others is beyond comparison.

“Last night was just us; chatting, planning and gossiping. So good. Amazing food and staff at Lovage Jesmond made our evening perfect.”

His followers were quick to offer their congratulations in the comments.

“Happy anniversary to such a beautiful couple. Jonnie, you look great,” wrote one person.

“You make a lovely couple, so glad you found each other. Happy anniversary and wishing you all the very best,” penned another.

While a third also remarked that Irwin was “looking well” and urged him to “keep doing what you’re doing”.

Irwin was first diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and chose not to go public until November last year.

He has since been keeping fans updated online as he continues to make the most of the time he has left with his beloved family.
