Hugh Jackman took to the wild for a rainy walk amid his divorce fom Deborra-Lee Furness.

The Australian actor announced earlier this month he was separating from his wife of nearly 30 years.

And over the weekend, the Wolverine star, 54, shared a glimpse of his Sunday morning activity – a nature-filled walked through woodlands in the rain.

His post included a number of shots from the walk and a couple of smiling selfies. He even managed to capture on film a deer walking through the woodlands, somewhere in New York state.

Jackman wrote: “Sunday morning walk in the rain ... heaven (and muddy)!"

Some of his fans commented on the post and made reference to his shock divorce. One commented: “Love your smile, Hugh. Thinking of you ... hope you’re feeling better.”

Another wrote: “Walking in nature away from the maddening crowds always brings inner peace. Hope it was enjoyable.”

Jackman and his wife, 67, have been married since 1996. They share two adopted children – a boy called Oscar, who is 23, and a girl named Ava, 18.

The pair confirmed they were separating with a joint statement made earlier this month.

The statement read: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

Jackman said recently, while out and about in New York, that he was finding the separation “tough” – adding it had been on the cards for “a long time”.
