Ali Bastian has welcomed her second child with husband David O’Mahony.

The Hollyoaks actress, 40, announced that she’d given birth to a baby girl on Saturday, February 11 in a post shared on Instagram on Thursday.

Beside a black-and-white photo posted of her newborn daughter’s feet, Bastian wrote: “She’s arrived! @davidcomahony and I welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world last Saturday.”

Bastian is now mother to two baby girls, after welcoming their eldest daughter Isla in 2021.

The soap star continued: “Isla is the proudest big sister! Our little family are snuggling in together for her fourth trimester and will be back with more news soon!”

The actress received congratulations from fans and her famous friends, following the news.

Fellow Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox, who is currently pregnant with her first child, wrote: “Wonderful, wonderful news! Congratulations to you all xxxx”.

Ashley James said: “Massive congratulations”, adding a series of heart emojis.

Bastian revealed that she was pregnant with her second child at 20 weeks in September.

The TV star admitted at the time that finding out she was pregnant this time around was “a lot less romantic” than the previous time with daughter Isla.

“I was at home by myself,” Bastian told OK! magazine.

“Isla was having a proper toddler morning, so David had taken her out in her carrier to get her to sleep.

“I felt that I should take a test. We’d been trying but I’d had a negative test result earlier in the month. I couldn’t believe it was positive.”

Bastian opened up about having a “bumpy start” to her pregnancy, causing her to worry, as she’d previously miscarried before getting pregnant with Isla.

“I had some early bleeding, so I was sent to the early pregnancy unit,” Bastian recalled.

“They put me on progesterone because I’d had a miscarriage in the past.

“I’m very grateful the clinic did that for me. I had a scan and then had what felt like a long two-week wait before having another, and it was an anxious time."

Bastian praised husband David for being a “great support” during her pregnancy and in parenthood.

The couple’s baby girl has arrived four years to the month since they got married in 2019.
