Looking as if they could be mother and daughter, Kate Winslet and Hillary Clinton wowed the crowds at the New York premiere of Finding Neverland.

They posed for photographs at the Brooklyn Museum, no doubt sparking the thought in some Hollywood executive's mind that Winslet would be the perfect choice to play Senator Clinton, who is 57 today, in any film of her life.

After causing a sensation at the London premiere with her babyblue-dress, last night Winslet, 29, wore a stunning black shoulderless number. She also sported a new, soft tousled hairstyle - again a longer version of Mrs Clinton's.

Guests at the screening included Winslet's husband Sam Mendes, co-star Dustin Hoffman and actor Ben Stiller. Winslet has received rave reviews for her role in the film, as the woman whose children inspired Peter Pan author JM Barrie. But she claims she could leave it all behind for a simpler life.

She said before the premiere: "If all this went belly-up and no one wanted to hire me I would simply go and get part-time work. I used to work part-time in delis and it was so much fun. I would probably do something like that.

"Either that or something with children. My sister Beth and I have often talked about setting up a nursery school."
