Marlon Roudette, the London-born artist who struggled to fulfil his youthful promise, is determined to make an impact with his debut album, Matter Fixed.

Roudette was a member of UK band Mattafix and although the two-man group split up years ago, the artist, now 28, never lost faith in himself.

"It was heart-breaking," said Roudette of the band's break-up. "It took a long time to deal with it - a lot of soul searching."

Warner Bros. Records saved Roudette's career by signing up and the musician is appreciative of their support. "They love the album and the creative direction," added Roudette. "They liked where I was taking it - and they are asking me for my input, which is a real benefit.

"It's incredible. They [Warner Bros] don't sign a lot of people - I'm aware of the faith that they are putting in me."

Roudette played in London's Madame Jojos on Monday night and his new album, which includes his featured track Riding Home, is released next year.
