Liam Payne has paid an adorable tribute to his son Bear on his first birthday, hailing him “his world”.

Payne, 24, posted a rare Instagram of Bear, who he shares with Cheryl, to mark the milestone day. The tot can be seen clinging on to Payne’s tattooed hand.

The former One Direction singer captioned the post: “Can’t believe my little man is one today, where does the time go?

“Happy birthday son you’re my world.”

Fans inundated Bear with birthday messages as they praised Payne for being a “great dad”.

One commented: “Owww so cute happy birthday to Bear!”

Another wrote: “Wow time went fast. Happy Birthday to a amazing little man. Hope he has a wonderful day. Xoxo.”

It was feared Payne may miss his son’s milestone birthday as he is scheduled to perform in Japan at a music festival on March 23.

Payne has spent the last few months jet-setting in a bid to promote his solo career worldwide. The constant travelling was reported to have put a strain on his relationship with Cheryl.

Addressing the speculation, he admitted their romance hasn’t been smooth sailing, but that the pair are still very much together.

“The funniest thing was a week before we were getting married,” he told ES magazine. “The next week we’re splitting up. And the thing for me is, I just like to think we’re somewhere in the middle.

“You know, we have our struggles – like of course I’m not gonna sit here and say that everything’s absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that’s what a relationship is.

He finished: “But we go through them together as a family and that’s the most important thing for me. This part of mine and my missus’s relationship was never not going to happen.”
