Nicole Scherzinger has revealed she is househunting in Notting Hill as she looks to set up home in London to focus on her career as an X Factor judge, West End star and solo artist.

The singer, 38, wants to make London her second home after being overwhelmed by the reception she received when she came over from the US.

She told the Standard: “So far I’ve found a cute little spot in Notting Hill. The vibe is so cool here. This is my second home. I love being back.

“Obviously I have my home in LA but this country’s so frickin’ good to me.”

Scherzinger has rejoined the panel on The X Factor and says she is open to more roles in the West End after appearing in Cats at the London Palladium in 2014.

At the launch of the Just East Food Fest in Shoreditch last night she said: “I grew up on the stage. Musical theatre is my background. The last time I was here I saw Kinky Boots, Memphis, Funny Girl, and I’ve just seen Guys and Dolls. I’m always looking to get my thespian fix.”

In May, Andrew Lloyd Webber said he was “furious” when Scherzinger pulled out of his Broadway production of Cats to return to The X Factor, but she insists they have made amends.

Referring to a recent one-off performance, she said: “I just did a show with Andrew in Austria. I learned a new song for him. Buenos Aires from Evita. So we’ve kissed and made up.”

Scherzinger, who found fame with The Pussycat Dolls, spoke of the challenges ahead of her third solo record: “I feel like it’s really hard. In this day and age it’s all about radio play and songs. Great hits mean they don’t need great voices and songs. I’m at an age where I need to think about what kind of album do I put out that represents me?”

She said of her X Factor return alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne: “We’re one big happy family on and off camera. We all have a real relationship with each other.”
