X Factor evictee Gifty Louise has hit back at those who criticised her ‘attitude’ after she was booted out of the ITV competition.

The 20-year-old singer looked devastated after Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger opted to send her home over girl group Four of Diamonds.

Gifty – who was branded a “sore loser” by viewers after being unable to hide her disappointment on Sunday night’s live show – has also claimed she received a barrage of “racial abuse”.

She tweeted: “Not going to pretend I'm happy and smile for the benefit of others. I worked my a** off and I was gutted. I'm allowed to be (sic).”

She also hit back at a fan who told her she should be pleased she got as far as she did, tweeting: “Who says I'm not? Lol girl don't mock what you have never felt. I was gutted.”

She later tweeted: “Wow.... At the amount of racial abuse I'm getting...”

The events manager addressed racist trolls ahead of her performance this weekend, tweeting: “I tolerate a lot of things, but one thing I won’t tolerate is racism.

“Don’t bring that crap anywhere near me.

Gifty lost her place in the competition during the Halloween special after singing Fifth Harmony’s I’m in Love With a Monster.

Mentor Simon Cowell took responsibility for her exit, saying: “It was my mistake Gifty. I should never have given you this song. You should not be out of the competition at this point. It’s not you it’s me.”

In a bid to give her some words of advice he added: “When you have an opportunity like this you have to grow from this and get tough and you’re a real talent Gifty and a great person, so do not give up.”

Speaking on Good Morning Britain this morning she said she felt as though she never really had a chance in the sing-off.

“I feel like the judges had already made up their mind,” she said.

“I am grateful for the opportunity. I made it to the final three girls, so I am chuffed.

“I was hoping to get on tour. This is serious for me. I want to get a career out of it.”
