Woody Allen’s 1977 film Annie Hall has been voted the funniest screenplay of all time.

The Oscar-winning romantic comedy, starring Allen and Diane Keaton, tops a new list put together by the Writers Guild of America.

During a ceremony in LA on Wednesday night, hosted by Rob Reiner, the top 101 funniest scripts of all time were announced.

Annie Hall, which was co-written by Allen and Marshall Brickman, beat Some Like it Hot into second place.

Groundhog Day, written by Harold Ramis and Danny Rubin is at number three on the list, followed by Airplane!

Allen, who won the Best Screenplay Oscar for Annie Hall has six other scripts on the list, including Manhattan, Sleep and Bananas.

One of the most recent titles is 2011’s Bridesmaids, written by Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig, which comes in at number 16.

The oldest is 1964’s The Gold Rush, which was written and directed by Charlie Chaplin.
