Will Young is reportedly launching a new career as a mindfulness tutor and is gearing up for a tour of the UK.

The singer and former Pop Idol winner is expected to visit festivals and events up and down the country to teach people the practice of meditation.

“His new move might be surprising but it something very important to him. He has practised mindfulness for years and wants to share his advice and help others,” a source told the Sun.

“Will’s music career has lost its way a little so it has come to the point where he needs to start turning his head to other projects.”

Young, who dropped out of Strictly Come Dancing last year, released his last album, 85% Proof, back in 2015 and an EP called Summer Covers last year.

Speaking to Huffington Post about his love of mindfulness, Young said that it helped him to rejuvenate his music career.

“I began to experience deep gratitude for my job and deep love for the whole experience, with people I worked with through to the audiences who would turn up to my shows,” he said.

“This doesn’t mean to say may I add that I live in a state of complete peace and harmony. I live life and I am now not disabled by such crippling thoughts and internal voices that managed to strip all joy and colour from my working life.”

Young is already scheduled to appear at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in London on May 1 as well as two festivals in Oxfordshire over the summer.
