Tupac’s murder remains an open homicide case in the wake of new claims about his killer, the Las Vegas Police department has revealed.

Despite the fact that former gang member Keefe D has now admitted to playing a part in the murder, without revealing the identity of the killer, the case remains unsolved.

In a recent interview on BET’s Death Row Chronicles, Duane Keith ‘Keefe D’, uncle of prime suspect Orlando Anderson, has said he was in the car when one of his crew opened fire back in 1996.

“I was a Compton kingpin, drug dealer, I’m the only one alive who can really tell you story about the Tupac killing,” he said.

“People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer. And I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth.”

Keefe D refused to name the actual shooter because of the rules in the “street code” however added: “It just came from the backseat bro.”

The shooter opened fire at 11:15pm on September 7 1996 hitting Tupac four times, in the chest, arm and thigh.

He died in hospital six days later and his murder has since remained unsolved.

Following the revelation, Tupac fans have started a change.org petition urging the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to look into the confession.

“We are aware of the statements made in a BET interview regarding the Tupac case. As a result of those statements we have spent the last several months reviewing the case in its entirety,” the police department said in a statement.

“Various reports that an arrest warrant is about to be submitted are inaccurate. This case still remains an open homicide case.”
