Film fans have dubbed the new Tomb Raider poster a ‘photoshop fail’ after spotting Alicia Vikander’s contorted neck.

The eagerly-awaited first-look at the Oscar-winner in character as Lara Croft left some people rather confused as they tried to work out what had gone wrong.

Following a series of badly-airbrushed film posters in recent months, the new Warner Bros attempt seems to have taken creative licence with the Swedish star’s body.

The heavily-photoshopped image shows the actress bending around in an uncomfortable-looking way, with a bizarrely long neck.

“The only way Vikander's neck makes sense in this poster is if the movie was originally TOMB RAPTOR,” wrote one person on Twitter.

Another posted: “They need to try and get more original with how to pose a strong female character in a poster...Also what happened with Alicia's neck?”

“You're all going to feel really bad about your snarky quips when it turns out that's just what Alicia Vikander's neck looks like now,” wrote another Twitter-user.

Other posters that have been dubbed ‘photoshop’ fails in recent months include those for Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther.

Alongside the poster the studio also released a 15-second teaser trailer of Vikander in character in the iconic role, based on the video game.

Vikander takes over the role from Angelina Jolie, who starred in 2001’s Lara Croft: TombRaider and The Cradle of Life in 2003.
