Tito Jackson has paid tribute to David Gest following his death.

The original member of The Jackson 5 has described the late producer and entertainer as being ‘more like a brother’ than a friend.

Speaking in an interview on Good Morning Britain, the 62-year-old said: “David was more like a brother to the family.

“He was a lot of fun - always joyful, always the jokester. David shared some good times with us.”

Talking about Gest’s close friendship with his brother Michael Jackson, he said:

“They were very close friends, they spent a lot of time together as well. They had a very abundant relationship.

“David started out in show-business in the '70s as the publicist for Michael McDonald, The Jacksons and Al Green.

“He was known for giving galas and he was known to just about to every star - everybody loved David Gest.”

The 62-year-old entertainer and former husband of Liza Minnelli was found dead on Tuesday morning at The Four Seasons in Canary Wharf.
