A spokesperson for This Morning has rubbished claims presenters Phillip Schofield and Eamonn Holmes clashed at the National Television Awards.

The duo - who separately present the ITV show - were both in attendance at Tuesday (January 29) night’s bash, where the programme won the Best Daytime accolade.

The whole team, including Schofield, Holmes, Holly Willoughby and Ruth Langsford, then headed to the winners room to answer questions from the press and pose for pictures.

On Thursday (January 30), reports of a “backstage clash” between Schofield and Holmes emerged with the Sun purporting to have video footage of the latter “yanking” the NTA out of Schofield’s hands.

The tabloid said that Holmes then handed the accolade to his wife, Langsford, who is rumoured to have had a falling out with Schofield.

A source also claimed the presenters have a “hugely strained” relationship - but a spokesperson for This Morning has poured cold water on the reports.

They told Standard Online: “This is completely untrue. All of the This Morning presenting team were in good spirits, visibly chatting together in their seats before and during the awards, and all celebrating afterwards.”

Schofield has repeatedly denied numerous feud claims, after being accused of falling out with Willoughby, Langsford and occasional This Morning presenter Amanda Holden.

Presenting partners Schofield and Willoughby celebrated over a decade of working together in December, as the former said of his pal: “We have such a laugh. We're best mates, she's like the sister I never had.

“I just adore working with her, she's just perfect.”

“You couldn't do the amount of hours of TV that we do with each other without getting on,” Willoughby added.

Standard Online has also contacted both stars’ individual representatives for further comment.
