2018 certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to sensational celebrity spats.

Some stars reignited long-standing feuds, others picked new battles and yet more chose to air their grievances on Twitter as the world watched (and picked sides).

The year got off to a dramatic start when Kim Cattrall appeared to slam her former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker as a “hypocrite.” Following the death of Cattrall’s brother, Parker reached out on social media, a move which the actress firmly rejected.

“Stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona,” she wrote. A third SATC film seemed less likely by the minute…

Piers Morgan is no stranger to a high-profile spat; indeed, some might say that the Good Morning Britain host actively seeks them out. It was hardly a surprise, then, when he decided to attack body positivity advocate Tess Halliday and girl band Little Mix.

He branded the former “dangerously overweight,” and claimed that the singers were “using sex to sell records” when they posed naked to promote their latest single. What was surprising, however, was when Ariana Grande waded in to give the presenter a lesson in feminism.

The award for feud of the year should perhaps go to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. After a volley of suspected diss tracks and not-so-subtle swipes on social media, the pair came to blows at a fashion week party.

The resulting altercation involved Cardi throwing a shoe at Minaj (she missed). Luckily, the pair decided to put their differences aside in October, and things have been a little quieter ever since.

Will our favourite stars vow to be less spat-prone when they write their new year’s resolutions? Probably not, so here’s to an equally dramatic 2019 (minus the shoe-throwing, of course)…
