Strictly Come Dancing’s Karen Clifton has hit back at rumours that she is splitting from husband Kevin, insisting that she is “happy” in her marriage.

The dancing duo dodged reports they were on the verge of a split during last year’s series, promoting more rumours of marriage woes.

Having spent Christmas apart, the couple are set to head out on a nationwide dance tour together in May.

Speaking to the Sun, Karen Clifton said: “'People are going to be interested but at the end of the day we are happy.

“We are really excited and we are creating right now and just talking through everything.”

She added: “We are in an amazing family show on Strictly and at the end of the day we love what we do.”

Rumours that the relationship had become rocky started circulating early last year after Kevin and partner Susan Calman were voted off the show.

Kevin told Strictly co-host Tess Daly: “When Strictly is on I'm not the easiest person to live with. I go a bit mad.

“So I'd like to say first of all, thanks to my wife for putting up with me.”

The dancing professionals married in July 2015 in what was reportedly a picturesque ceremony.
