Shia LaBeouf’s anti-Donald Trump live-stream has been taken down again after shots were allegedly fired.

The 30-year-old actor launched the art installation at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration to protest his Presidency, but it was later shut down and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico after it became a “flashpoint for violence”.

LaBeaouf confirmed that the live-stream has been stopped for a second time, over fears for the publics’ safety.

He tweeted: “We have taken the stream down after shots were reported in the area.

“The safety of everybody participating in our project is paramount.”

The actor and political activist set up the project alongside Jaden Smith and artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner as “a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism” and called on the public to visit and say the words “He will not divide us”.

It was intended to run throughout Mr Trump’s presidency but was shut down after it “deteriorated markedly”.

In a statement the Museum of the Moving Image said:

LaBeouf personally took on a white supremacist who invaded the live stream days after it was launched and was later arrested after he pulled the scarf of an unidentified 25-year-old man and allegedly scratched his face in the process.

The actor and activist was charged with misdemeanour assault and harassment before being released on bail.
