Piers Morgan couldn’t resist reigniting his criticism of David Beckham as he was shown a clip of the former footballer making his acting debut in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Morgan joked Beckham could be the “third Mitchell brother” as he mocked his East End accent in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film.

The Good Morning Britain star impersonated Beckham after he was shown in character with his co-star Charlie Hunnam.

In a teaser clip Hunnam asks: “Where do you want me?”

To which Beckham replies: “Bouncing on my knee, where do you think I want you? Stupid.”

Morgan said: “I thought it was fantastic. He could be the third Mitchell brother in EastEnders. I thought it was a very, very good performance. Honestly. Oscars, wow, exciting.”

Continuing his ‘praise’ of Beckham he later added: “He’s the missing Mitchell brother. You’re a brilliant actor I can see the Oscars looming. A super talented man.”

Viewers seemed more impressed by Morgan's acting than Beckham's, with one tweeting: “@piersmorgan 's impression of David Beckham in King Arthur made my morning! #bowfands.”

Another posted: “Just spat my tea out laughing at your Beckham impression.”

One even begged film bosses to give Morgan a cameo, tweeting: “I loved piers Morgan - Both Hands..... Hilarious. However I won't be rushing out to watch the film, not unless Piers gets a cameo!”

Others mocked Beckham's voice, with many questioning if he took inspiration from comedian Joe Pasquale.
