Piers Morgan is fighting back after being branded a ‘hypocrite’ following his comments about Kim Kardashian.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, who has been a harsh critic of the reality star in the past, has told Twitter followers to ‘pipe down’ after he admitted to feeling ‘sorry’ for her after she was robbed and held at gun point.

Despite recently criticising her penchant for nude selfies, Morgan spoke out in defence of Kardashian on Monday morning as vile trolls mocked her ordeal.

“Feel very sorry for @KimKardashian. Must have been a terrifying experience. #Paris #robbery,” he originally wrote.

His followers were quick to slam him for being a critic of the star one day and jumping to her defence the next.

One person wrote: “How can Piers Morgan have the nerve to talk about viewing the Kim K as a human when all he does is attack her?"

“Can't wait for Piers Morgan's article on this Kim K situation, wonder how he'll twist it into being about her nude selfies,” wrote another.

Hitting back, Morgan wrote: “Sorry? I can't object to her naked selfies but also feel sorry for her being robbed at gunpoint? Stop being ridiculous.”

Replying to one follower, he simply wrote: “Take a paracetamol & pipe down.”

A number of stars including James Corden and Chrissy Teigen have posted messages of sympathy after it was revealed that Kardashian was tied up and robbed by a group of five men at her Paris apartment in the early hours of Monday.

“People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend.Be nice or shut up,” wrote Corden.
