Peter Andre has rubbed shoulders with a string of famous faces and had a handful of number one hits during a 25 year career - but it’s his new role with Disney on Ice which has granted him the status of “cool parent”.

Andre, 41, who is the ambassador for Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival, said meeting a raft of classic Disney characters – especially Princess' Elsa and Anna from Frozen – has delighted his children.

Speaking to the Evening Standard he said: “I’ve all of a sudden become a really cool parent to the kids because I get to meet all of the characters, and so do they.”

Andre, who has son Junior, 9, and daughter Princess Tiaammii, 7, with ex-wife Katie Price, and one-year-old daughter Amelia with fiancée Emily MacDonagh, said the show will encourage families to enjoy something together.

“These days growing up is different to when I was a teenager because we didn’t have iPads, and so we were always doing stuff with our families,” he said. “Now you have to tell kids to keep off of them so this is a way of getting them out to do something as a family.”

Aside from Disney on Ice, the Mysterious Girl singer is currently filming for a new prime time ITV show, working on expanding his coffee business and preparing himself for calendar season.

"It’s motivation for me to get in shape really," he said. "If Cliff Richard can do it at 70 and he’s still selling calendars, then I’m happy at 41.”

When asked if he ever compares his body to the famous topless shot of his torso in the music video for Mysterious Girl he replied, "For 41 I feel in great shape," before revealing that he is happy "as long as I look nice in a suit and kind of cool in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt".

The singer-cum-TV-presenter, and model - who has had the "honour of selling out the Royal Albert Hall" - revealed his dream is to perform alongside his "very good friend" Tito and The Jacksons.

"I’ve never had the honour of standing on stage and performing next to [Tito]," he said. "When he comes to town he’ll call me up and he’ll come round and we’ll have dinner. They’re a beautiful family."

Peter is the ambassador for Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival which is appearing at The SSE Arena, Wembley London until April 26. Tickets are available from disneyonice.co.uk
