Katie Price fans are refusing to donate to her London Marathon fund over fears she will pull out of the event.

Price, 39, is running the 26.2 mile course in a bid to raise money for the British Lung Foundation after her mother Amy was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition.

But despite efforts on social media to drum up support she has only raised £280 of her £2,000 target.

Price’s fans are sceptical that she will start the race after she recently cancelled a string of tour dates due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

One user tweeted: “You really think she's going to run the london marathon??? Hahahaha.... Just watch! another perfectly timed family crisis will pop up forcing her to cancel before it gets anywhere near the event itself.”

Another posted: “Once again she welched on [her tour], so she will definitely welch on the marathon, dodgy knees, back just like last time.”

A third wrote: “Surely with your kind of money you should be putting the 2 grand in yourself!?”

Price, who ran the London Marathon with her then husband Peter Andre in 2009, said she has been struggling to train for this year’s race due to her damaged knees.

“I haven't gone the distance I did before, because my knees are damaged,” she told Heat magazine .

“But I’d rather save my strength for marathon day. There's absolutely no way I could ever not run this marathon.

“Whatever happens, whatever pain I'm in - it's to make my mum proud in the end.”

Price’s mother Amy was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) last year. The condition causes scarring of the lungs which leaves sufferers struggling to breathe.

Price recently revealed her mother could die from a common cold as a result of the condition which currently has no cure.

Speaking to Now Magazine, she said: “My mum is dying, it’s that simple. They normally diagnose is three to five years but Mum has already had to change her life.

“She’s sold her house because of the stairs. She really struggles with them. But she could get a cold now not get rid of it, and die within month – that’s how bad it is... Either way, she hasn’t got long.”
