Noel Gallagher has denied rumours that Oasis will headline Glastonbury as they ‘don’t pay enough’.

The pop star insists that if the band were to ever reunite, it wouldn’t be on the iconic Pyramid Stage.

Speaking to The Daily Star, he said: “I don't know where the rumours keep coming from about Glastonbury.

“Would we ever do it? They don't have enough money I'm afraid. That's the bottom line, they just don't pay enough."

The High Flying Birds frontman, 48, recently told Chris Moyles that he would ‘never say never’ when it came to reuniting with brother Liam Gallagher, but that it would only ever be for money.

He said: “Probably not in the very near future. One should never say never though, when someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion.

“I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it. But there’s one that wouldn’t…me."

While the singer and his brother Liam Gallagher have been on good terms in recent years, they fell out again earlier this year.

Speaking about the band’s 1990s Britpop success, he said: “The second lot of gigs we [Oasis] did at Wembley were infinitely better. As a live band, we got better – as the songs got worse.”
