It has emerged that the teenage heart-throb singer's bus was raided on Sunday and marijuana and "drug paraphernalia" found on board as it crossed from Windsor Canada into Detroit in the US.

Bieber, 19, was not on the bus at the time and performed later that night at Joe Louis Arena.

A spokesman for the US Customs and Border Protection said that a police dog had "indicated" the presence of drugs on the bus and a small amount of marijuana was found. All its passengers were allowed to go.

As a result of the incident, X Factor matriarch Sharon Osbourne has herself got into a spot of bother by accusing him of trying to "act black". "I think that he's lost, I really do," she is reported as saying. "I think he doesn't realise he's white and not black, that's a huge problem. And, at the point he's at in his career, it's so dangerous because we've seen it a million times."

She went on to say that she felt really sorry for him because "There's this little kid with a huge dream, he's cute, girls love him and he wants to be a mean boy. He's about as mean as a f****** kitten."

Her remarks have sparked a row about racism on Twitter, with her being accused of equating being bad with being black. @Rhoodje tweeted: "Your comment about Justin is really racist! Define 'acting black' please? You are disgusting."

Meanwhile, German authorities are still chasing the singer with regard to an unpaid bill for his former pet monkey, Mally.

Bieber failed to produce the necessary vaccination and import papers for the capuchin monkey when he arrived for a European tour in March. Mally became the property of the government in May when Bieber failed to claim his pet and it has been rehomed in a zoo in Lower Saxony.

Franz Boehmer of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation says Bieber has a week to pay €1,130 for Mally’s care – or customs officials “have ways of making him pay” next time he enters Germany.
