Tinie Tempah looks to be the first guest to star on the revamped Top Gear.

Tempah, 27, was pictured in a car with new host Matt LeBlanc on location in South Africa.

The former Friends star, 48, tweeted the picture and referred to Tempah as his “co-driver”.

He captioned the image: “My co driver for a few days. @TinieTempah goin low.”

Tempah – real name Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu – teased his involvement in the popular motoring show on Monday when he posted a selfie with LeBlanc.

Including Radio 1 DJ Greg James in the tweet, he posted: “How's this for a selfie @gregjames?”

James replied: “OK now I believe you. Also, I wonder what you could be filming?! (sic)”

The pictures come days after BBC bosses dismissed claims that Chris Evans had been against LeBlanc joining the show.

Director of Television Mark Linsey said: “[Evans] has been behind Matt joining the presenting team since day one.

“Chris and Matt are part of a wider production team that is full of brilliant and talented people.

“That team is tight-knit, in great spirits and utterly focused on delivering the best possible series for viewers.”

Linsey also rubbished reports that Evans had behaved in an unprofessional manner during filming, saying: “It is rubbish to suggest Chris Evans' behaviour on the set of ‘Top Gear’ has been in any way unprofessional.

“Chris is a consummate professional and a real team-player.

Sabine Schmitz, Eddie Jordan, Chris Harris and Rory Reid are also part of the new line-up.
