Little Mix’s 2020 summer tour was cruelly taken away from their die-hard fans thanks to the coronavirus crisis.

But earlier this month, four fathers went viral after recreating a Little Mix concert by dressing up as the iconic girl group and performing for their daughters, who sadly had to miss out on seeing the girl band.

Now, the four-piece have surprised the young Little Mix fans - and their fathers - by joining them in a Zoom call with Heart FM.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Perrie Edwards surprised the families during a call on Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin’s show.

They gave their personal stamps of approval for the dads’ performance, which they called Little Dads Mix.

The fathers - Andy Moody, Matt Clarkson, Dan La Borde and Simon Harvey - appeared on the Zoom call first, introduced by Theakston and Horobin.

“It was a joint effort, when we realised it was cancelled, as a joke, I photoshopped our faces onto a picture and sent it to our group chat,” said Moody.

“I think it was Simon’s other half, Helen, that actually said ‘Let’s do this.’ We all kind of ran with it.”

The dads and their kids were suddenly surprised as one by one, the four Little Mix members appeared in the Zoom call, to the girls’ delight.

Nelson branded the dads as “brilliant,” saying: “I felt like they were better than us!”

Edwards joked that Clarkson could take over her place in the band. “We’ll be back soon, then if we’re feeling a little run down, I’m giving Matt a blonde wig and he can do a shift for me.”

Little Mix did not indicate when they would be able to return to touring, but fans can look forward to their new talent series, which will kick off in autumn.

Little Mix The Search will feature the four singers selecting and mentoring new artists, with comedian Chris Ramsey on hosting duties.

“We can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on because it’s so good,” said Edwards.

“This show is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time."
