Jennifer Aniston has revealed she's spent lockdown rewatching old Friends episodes - while Lisa Kudrow refuses to watch the show.

Speaking to each other for Variety’s annual Actors on Actors series, this year conducted over video calls, Aniston revealed Kudrow’s comedic timing often left her in stitches on the show.

“I love stumbling on a Friends episode,” she said. “This one time I was with Courteney, and we were trying to find something to reference, an old Friends thing. And then we stumbled on — there’s bloopers online — and we sat there at the computer like two nerds watching these bloopers laughing at ourselves.”

She continued: “When I watch an episode, I’ll usually remember where we broke during the scene. You and I would always get into these fits of laughter because you had this wonderful ability to — you were about to hit your punchline, and you would do this adorable thing where you would break.

“You would say the punchline, and you would always turn to the audience and say, ‘I’m sorry, it’s really funny.’”

Kudrow revealed she was waiting for a special occasion to watch the entirety of Friends with her former castmates.

“I don’t watch the show,” she said. “I’m still not watching it in the hopes that one day we sit down and watch them together.”

Aniston promised: “That’s something that will happen.”

The actresses also revealed that they are both in the dark about the upcoming Friends reunion, which has been postponed due to coronavirus.

“I really can’t wait to do that,” said Kudrow. “We don’t know everything about it, we need to say. I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well.”

Aniston confirmed that the special for HBO Max will not be scripted, saying: “I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them.”

Aniston and Kudrow also spoke about their respective television projects, with Aniston winning a SAG Award for her performance in The Morning Show, and Kudrow starring in both Space Force and Feel Good.

Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman previously told The Wrap that the production team are hoping to film the reunion special, initially planned for May, in August.
