Lisa Armstrong has hinted that she has “been through hell” in the wake of her split and subsequent divorce from Ant McPartlin.

The make-up artist was married to the TV star for 11 years before they called it quits in January, with McPartlin going on to date his PA Anne Marie Corbett.

The estranged couple filed for divorce last week, with Armstrong blaming the split on “adultery” and McPartlin being “intolerable” to live with, according to court papers.

Armstrong hinted the tough time has not broken her after she ‘liked’ a tweet from one fan who sent an inspirational quote.

“She’s been through hell and came out an angel,” it read. “You didn’t break her, darling. You don’t own that kind of power.”

Armstrong replied: “Thanks Hun. X.”

Fans have flocked to support the Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist who has hinted at her emotional state via Twitter posts.

She most recently appeared to hit back at reports she was issued a “legal warning” about allegedly “attacking” McPartlin’s new girlfriend on social media.

She liked a string of posts about “freedom of speech” with one reading: “Never ever let anyone silence you..can't stand a bully…”

Another read: “Surely @lisaAmakeup can like or retweet whatever the hell she likes?! Freedom of speech and all that! #hatersgonnahate #justbeyou #ignore.”

Armstrong previously told fans she was unaware of McPartlin’s new relationship with “her friend and their PA who she let into their home,” claiming she found out when it hit the headlines.

McPartlin and Armstrong, who wed in 2006, were granted a “quickie” divorce last week in a hearing lasting just 30 seconds.
