Liam Payne gave a nod to Cheryl’s giant rose tattoo as he tweeted his congratulations in the wake of her musical comeback.

Payne appeared to show there are no hard feelings following their split as he reached out to his ex, hours after she dropped the music video for her new track, Love Made Me Do It.

The former One Direction singer, who shares one-year-old son Bear with Cheryl, also hinted that he has heard the track list from her upcoming fifth album.

He tweeted: “Congratulations @CherylOfficial on your first release in 4 years can’t wait for everyone to hear the rest.”

Payne’s fans praised the singer for being a “supportive ex-boyfriend” and a “gentleman”.

One tweeted: “We stan! No shade, genuine support only.”

Another posted: “Liam is officially the nicest human.”

A third wrote: “That’s a mature person right there! Proud of you Liam.”

Cheryl and Payne confirmed their relationship in March 2016 after months of speculation. One year later they welcomed their first child together before announcing their split in June 2018.

Cheryl this week shut down speculation her new music is about Payne, after she sings about falling for a “f*****” in her new single.

“That’s the easiest thing for the critics to write,” she said according to the Mirror.

“But actually, all the music and songs I’ve got ready were done way before we split, none of them are about anybody.”

But she appears to make a dig at ex-husbands Ashley Cole and Jean-Bernard Versini as she sings about being a “bad girl” at times but always a “good wife”.
