US actress Lena Dunham enjoyed a fitness launch with Gwyneth Paltrow – on Facetime.

Dunham, 30, connected with Paltrow, 44, via a video call after storm Stella prevented the Goop founder from attending the opening of trainer Tracy Anderson’s new studio in New York.

Dunham posed for pictures with a smiling Paltrow on her phone as she chatted away to the Iron Man actress.

She also made sure to include her in a group photo with Anderson who later posted the picture on Instagram.

She captioned the shot: “Even a snow storm can't block our love! Yes these are my incredible friends @jennikonner and @lenadunham holding my other incredible friend @gwynethpaltrow on our press line tonight! My endless loves.”

Dunham showed off her slimmed down figure at Wednesday night’s event. The Girls actress recently attributed her weight loss to Donald Trump’s Presidential victory.

“Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food,” she told Howard Stern.

“Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight.'”

Dunham opened up about turning to exercise in 2015, saying it helped her to cope with anxiety.

Writing on social media she posted: “Promised myself I would not let exercise be the first thing to go by the wayside when I got busy with Girls Season 5 and here is why: it has helped with my anxiety in ways I never dreamed possible.

“To those struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression: I know it's mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen. I'm glad I did. It ain't about the ass, it's about the brain.”

Girls season six is out now.
